Tupac Shakur 's 25th Death Anniversary Tribute (1971-1996)
Nahshon Dion was one of three thousand artists awarded a New York City Artist Corps Grant to create a tribute for Tupac Shakur's 25th death anniversary on September 13, 2021. The virtual event was hosted by Nahshon and Tracy D. Robinson, a producer, director, and artist, along with Tupac's former manager and mentor, Leila Steinberg, and other artists and writers. The tribute included readings from Tupac's 1999 poetry book "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" (Pocket Books/MTV Books) and a discussion of his enduring impact on culture and society through his words, image, and musical legacy.
